Founded in 2001 by Ken Earle, EZkem currently provides parts and services for a wide array of national and international clients. Ken’s experience with flow analysis began when he was employed by the National Science Foundation research laboratories in Antarctica. The experience he earned there running low level multiple channel nutrient analysis gave him extensive exposure to the complexities and nuances of Flow Analysis. After leaving NSF, Ken entered the private sector and worked directly for Alpkem as their Technical Services Director for several years. While at Alpkem, he worked to develop and improve instrument platforms as well as training, repair and installation protocols for new equipment. When Alpkem was purchased by OI Analytical, Ken became a field service engineer and traveled the world installing and repairing flow analysis instruments.

In 2001, Ken made the decision to found EZkem to better service the flow analysis industry and other scientific activities. Our goal is to provide support for laboratories that work in the spectroscopy fields — including, but not limited to flow analysis and cyanide analysis.

Teresa Langen
Teresa LangenDirector of Operations
Teresa Langen is the Director of Operations at EZkem Corp. Teresa holds a B.S. in Biology from Central Washington University and spent 8 years as a QA professional specializing in compliance and lean manufacturing, a.k.a. she runs a tight ship. Teresa worked in analytical chemistry labs for over 11 years giving her first-hand knowledge of the flow analyzers that EZkem services and sells. When Teresa isn’t overachieving she’s either serenely gardening or knocking off 26-milers for the 50 marathons in 50 states club.

Varina Schecter
Varina SchecterProject Manager
Varina Schecter, our Project / Process Manager, has her BS in Chemistry from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. After graduating and working as a Chemist and Testing Coordinator in the Automotive Industry, she moved out West with her husband to help run his family’s lumber business. Her background in chemistry, process management, and small business, helps keep EZkem running smoothly. When she’s not streamlining processes and keeping us organized, Varina spends her time sewing, dirt biking, and hiking with her family.

Charles Becker
Charles BeckerService and Parts Technician
Charles Becker is our inventory and service technician. With over 250 flow analysis parts at EZkem, his title should really be inventory guru. He has a diverse background in renewable energy technology, electrical engineering and political science. When he’s not making sure that our customers are getting exactly the right parts, he can be found moonlighting at a local Northwest brewery and hiking, fishing or biking in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.
Nicholas Higgins
Nicholas HigginsField Service Engineer
A native northwestern resident of the United States, Nick loves anything outdoors. His has degrees from both Eastern Oregon University and Oregon State with a focus on fish and wildlife. A love for science and all things technical Nick is a great addition to the EZkem team. No problem too big, nothing too complex if Nick is involved you will be successful. Hi Ken, Sorry I haven’t been in touch, I have been meaning to write back. I have seen significant improvement in reproducibility (although I will aim for even better data in the future), and have currently been working on getting through the backlog of samples that had built up during the 2 months that the instruments were down (hence the slow reply with emails). I really want to thank you for all of your help and advice in getting these issues sorted. I’m not sure where I would be if I didn’t have your suggestions and help to go off.
